I just started playing flag football recently, having never played football before. I wanted some good football gloves, mostly because I wanted my hands covered on cold mornings, though I did not know how much utility they provide. I ordered these because they look pretty cool and have a nice color selection, as well as being very well reviewed.I was amazed at how tacky the surface is. Even as a total beginner, these made it far easier to catch the ball. Not only does the ball practically stick to the gloves, but it gives you a certain confidence that allows you to go for a catch where you otherwise may find it hopeless. I still have a lot to learn as far as proper technique is concerned and I still dropped a ball here and there, but these are a huge help.I played in the snow yesterday, and despite what some have said about them, it is still very easy to catch the ball when the gloves are wet. If you rub your hands together when wet they feel slippery, but you'll notice that when you use force they still provide friction. Since they kept getting wet, they were always clean, and after wiping them off on my shorts or jacket they were extremely tacky before every play.I used the size chart provided by Cutters. I didn't bother to print it out, I just got it to "actual size" on the screen and put my hand on it. My hand fit perfectly in large, so I ordered large, and the gloves indeed fit perfectly. They are very comfortable as well.I only have one negative thing to say, and that is that the craftsmanship on my pair was a little sloppy. The many small pieces were not cut precisely, so when you look closely at them you can see that the edges don't line up with the stitching. However, they still look very cool from any distance greater than 6 inches, and I realize how and where they are made, so I'm not really worried about it and it certainly isn't enough to deduct a star.All in all, great gloves that met and exceeded all expectations. Make sure you get the right size by using the size chart. I don't have any experience to compare these with, but I can't imagine a reason to spend any more on gloves when you can have these. Definitely recommend.
