Ok, I'm not happy with this version. It took me a little over a year to go through my pair of Cool Hand I's. I've been wearing the II's for a couple of weeks now and the tips of the thumbs are already frayed. Also, the way the Velcro is positioned, the wrist straps won't stay open long enough to get my hands out. The aspect I'm not sure of is the leather palms. They seem slippery. I'm not sure if, over time, they will soften up or just get worse. The Cool Hand I's had ribbed leather at the base of the fingers. This may be what helped with grip. When I run my fingers over the fingers on the gloves I notice the II's are thinner, but the I's have better grip. Scorpion also changed the back of the hands. The I's had a two piece hard rubber armor and the II's have Neoprene padding. I'm assuming Scorpion put the new gloves through tests that proved the new system was acceptable in the event of a crash.Pro's:The new glove is thinner and lighter. You can definitely tell they breath better.Keep in mind they run small. However, once you find your size, they fit great.Scorpion strategically placed small Neoprene pads on the palm right where you grip. The base of the glove is now gauntlet style. This fits better when wearing a jacket.Cons:The leather palms and fingers are slippery. While this isn't an issue with rubber grips, it is a problem with my chrome/rubber grips on my cruiser. The old model definitely had better grip. When your hand is in the glove, the Velcro wrist strap doesn't want to stay open long enough to get your hand out.Overall, these are good gloves. The fit is good and the fingers are precise. I would have given them a better rating if the leather had better grip. The gloves’ fit & finish is nice. While not ideal protection, they ventilate VERY well and the knuckle padding is more substantial than I thought. Sizing is a little odd though. Measuring my hand per Scorpion’s guidance, I’m at the very bottom end of the 2XL size. But my hands have unusual proportions in that I have big hands but relatively short fingers. Despite this, the glove for over the hand is near perfect but the fingers are the perfect length for my short fingers. I’m guessing folks with normal proportioned hands might want to size up when buying these gloves. The proportions have changed in this new model. The fingers and thumb are shorter and tighter. If you are ordering a replacement pair, go up one size.Great gloves. Go one size up run small. My second pair. I have layed my dirtbike over and they protected my hands. Minor fuzzy wear on the outside after many uses but love themGreat gloves, good fit. The only downside is the traffic yellow mesh can shed fibers if it comes into contact with the hook sided of Velcro.Returned a LARGE for and X-Large and there was no apparent difference.Internal seams were not comfortable.A++++Nice gloves...comfyThe good. +Fits perfectly, go one size up on your usual size and no issues. +The pre-bend grip is a great feature that brings up the comfort level. The bad. -The mesh material is low quality, it frills up at the fingertips and is not very abrasion resistant. - Do not let the mesh material get in contact with Velcro "cro" part. It will ripp the fibers.
